Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The latter is is currently in a partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation. The company was given the name of the star cluster Pleiade, which means in Japanese "gather together". Subaru's logo is composed of a large star that represents the parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, and the five smaller stars represent the current five companies in the group.
