Mercury was founded in 1939 by Edsel Ford, son of Henry Ford, and is an automobile marque of the Ford Motor Company. Mercury was known for performance during its early years. The brand name means the "messenger of the gods" in Roman mythology. Mercury cars are sold in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico. The marque went through several changes. During the 1940s and 1950s, Mercury cars looked like a "junior Lincoln".
