Before and after the World War I, Lagonda introdudec an advanced small car called the 11.1. During the war, I Lagonda made artillery shells. In 1935, Lagonda company was bought by Alan Good, who just outbid Rolls-Royce. The latter persuaded W. O. Bentley to leave Rolls-Royce and join Lagonda as designer. See the ads Lagonda wanted below.
