Hillman was a British automobile brand (originally named Hillman-Coatalen) founded by William Hillman and Louis Coatalen. The Hillman cars were manufactured by the Rootes Group. The company was based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, and active from 1907 to 1976. See the ads Hillman wanted below.

When Coatalen left the company to join Sunbeam, Hillman changed its name to Hillman Motor Car Company in 1910. In 1928, Humber bought Hillman, then both companies were taken over by Rootes three year later. See the ads Hillman wanted below.
