Edsel was an American brand of the Ford Motor Company from 1958 to 1960. The brand failed commercially and was one of the biggest failure in the history of American car business. See the ads Edsel wanted below.
The first Edsel model was introduced in 1957. It was said that the vehicle would be built differently from the other Ford models, but in reality, they shared the same bodyworks. The Edsel cars were formerly made by Ford, and then by the Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln. See the ads Edsel wanted below.
Ford decided to stop producing Edsel cars in 1959. The reason why Edsel failed was that it was the wrong car at the wrong time.
