Cottin & Desgouttes was a French automobile manufacturer from the beginning of the 20th century. The history of Cottin-Desgouttes began In 1904 when Pierre Desgoutte started manufacturing automobiles under the name of "Desgouttes & Cie" in Lyon, France. Two years later, Desgouttes was joined by a wealthy industrial worker, Cyrille Cottin. Together, they founded a new company called "Automobiles Cottin & Desgouttes". The first model was the type A, compose of a six-cylinder engine. Then, luxury and sports car models were built afterwards. The Cottin & Desgouttes cars were well known for the very high quality of their production. See the ads Cottin-Desgouttes wanted below.
At the beginning of World War I, the French Army requested a series of Cottin-Desgouttes fast ttility vehicles. The company also built special engines for tractors and aircraft motors. At the end of the War, Cottin & Desgoutte went back to producing luxury cars as they had well equipped production facilities.
