The first Cord model that appeared in the market was the Cord L-29, also the first American front-wheel drive car to be offered to the public. The following model, called Cord 810, was a huge success, as many people ordered it at the 1936 New York Auto Show. See the ads Cord wanted below.
The design of the Cord 810/812 was so distinctive that it was re-marketed almost immediately in 1940. But only limited replicates of the original were produced between 1964 and 1970, due to financial difficulties. The models were powered by Ford and Chrysler. See also the ads Cord wanted below.
