Avanti models: Avanti Avanti II AVX V8In 1965, Nate Altman and Leo Newman, which were former Studebaker agents, bought from Studebaker the production rights of Avanti and a part of its factory of SouthBend. There, they modernized the sports car of Raymond Loewy, powered by Corvette V8 engines of 5,3 liters (for the models of 1966 to 1969 and 5,7 liters for those of 1969 and following). The cars built in 1965 were all 1966 models and the annual production was on average of one hundred cars. Avanti II was modestly priced for a hand-made car, in general exceeding only from ten to fifteen percent the price of the Corvette. Avanti Avanti II AVX V8 were the models.

A second generation of Avanti automobile was created by Tom Kellogg, one of the original Avanti design team members working for industrial designer Raymond Loewy, in the late 1980s. These cars were based on GM's "F" platform (based on GM's Camaro / Firebird models), having the same styling themes as the Avanti is marketed today. Visit the official Avanti site.
