The most famous model of all was the CGS "Grand Sport" of 1924 which featured a 1074 cc sv engine and four-wheel brakes. The next models were more sporty CGSS "Grand Sport Surbaissé" and were built under license in Germany, in Austria and in Italy. See the ads Amilcar wanted below.
In 1937 the company merged with Hotchkiss (Société Anonyme des Anciens Etablissements Hotchkiss et Cie), a French arms and car company established by an American engineer. After World War II, production of the Amilcar was not resumed. See also the ads Amilcar wanted below.
