American Motors Company produced a wide range of products during the 1960s. In the early part of the decade, sales were strong and the firm made healthy profits year after year. The Rambler model ranked in third place among domestic automobile sales. See the ads AMC wanted below.
AMC did well financially in the 1960’s and early 1970’s, but they then hit hard times. In the late 1970s, the company was forced to form an alliance with France's Renault as sales were declining in the United States auto market.
